Leadership Team

Jeff Trexel, CEO 

Jeff Trexel is an early pioneer of the media intelligence industry. He founded a media monitoring and measurement start-up in 2003 that hired great people, created cutting-edge solutions with Fortune 500 clients, and built deep, long-lasting client relationships. After a merger in 2014, the firm continued to grow and evolve until being acquired in 2019. Prior to founding the start-up, Jeff honed his craft working in senior communications roles on Capitol Hill and as a trusted consultant for a publicly-traded corporation and a global PR agency. Countless hours invested in client planning, strategy, and evaluation sessions have given Jeff a unique understanding of how to succeed in demanding, fast-paced, often-chaotic corporate and governmental environments.

Kristin Rhodes, Senior VP of Media Intelligence

Kristin Rhodes is a 16-year veteran of the media intelligence industry, previously leading Fortune 50 media measurement accounts and global teams while serving as Vice President, Media Intelligence, at FleishmanHillard. In this role, she built and executed C-suite messaging, media analysis, secondary and audience research projects for pharma, logistics, software, tech and telco customers. Prior to FleishmanHillard, Kristin honed her skills as Automotive Insights Director, at Cision, managing a dozen OEM/industry accounts.

Mark Malseed, Senior Advisor

Mark Malseed is a leading media innovator and award-winning digital product executive. He is cofounder of two previous media intelligence firms, which developed advanced software and client services for tracking media coverage and the networks of influencers behind it. A bestselling author, Mark is a trusted advisor to senior Fortune 500 executives and institutional leaders on sensitive, complex communications challenges. His focus is on shaping public narratives and managing reputational risk through intelligence gathering, data analysis and creative outreach strategies.

Maya Woloshyn, Senior Director of Media Intelligence

Maya Woloshyn started her career in New York City’s finance industry, where she served as a core member of The Rockefeller University’s investment team managing a $1.8 billion portfolio. From 2013, Maya shifted her focus to strategic communications and open-source intelligence analysis at Bulletin Intelligence, providing daily briefings to senior executives and government officials. A Virginia native and University of Virginia alum, her special interests include researching and analyzing opportunities and connections, identifying and implementing innovative solutions, developing meaningful relations, walking across countries and traveling the world.

Hannah Chapman, Data Analyst

Hannah Chapman is an inquisitive data professional with a passion for finding connections between variables and using the power of data to improve efficiency and performance. A key member of the Watershed Analytics team, Hannah devotes her time to serving the company’s highest priority clients. Prior to Watershed, she served as an analyst for App Academy, conducting detailed analysis of call data from previous enrollments, identifying actionable insights to optimize enrollment strategies and enhance team performance.

Shayla Harris, Media Analyst

Shayla Harris is a valued member of the Watershed Analytics team, serving on several Fortune 500 accounts in the transportation and online retail sectors. Always dedicated to excellence in client service, Shayla brings to Watershed a history of building lasting relationships. Prior to Watershed, Shayla served as a Member Service lead for FS-ISAC, the global cyber intelligence sharing community, gaining valuable experience in an environment where rapid response to client needs was essential.
